We can pick you up from your hotel or home anywhere in the Sydney Area (up to 50kms from the centre of the city).
You can choose how much time to spend on your tour so you’re completely comfortable throughout while seeing the best parts of the city.
How much we can show you depends on how long your tour is and the time of day, but rest assured, you’ll see something amazing every time.

EASTERN SUBURBS TOUR
Pickup:
In the Sydney CBD area – usually at or near your place of stay.
Sites we’ll visit:
A cruise over the Harbour Bridge, around the inner north shore suburbs, then back over the bridge and through the Botanic Gardens around Mrs Macquarie’s chair, then on to Bondi and some of the other Eastern suburbs beaches.
Duration:
It will typically take approximately an hour.

NORTHERN BEACHES TOUR
Pickup:
In the Sydney CBD area – usually at or near your place of stay.
Sites we’ll visit:
A cruise over the Harbour Bridge, then around the inner north shore suburbs including Taronga zoo and Bradleys Head in Mosman, then continue on to northern beaches of DeeWhy, Curl Curl and we will end at Manly Wharf where you will be able to enjoy a wonderful ferry ride across the harbour and back to the Sydney CBD.

It will typically take approximately an hour.

What is a Caterham 7?
The Caterham 7 is the continuation and evolution of the Lotus 7.
Lotus (“Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious”) is the famous sports car company formed in 1952 by the legendary and highly controversial Colin Chapman.
The Lotus 7 was introduced in 1957, to provide amateur drivers a cheap entry into motorsport.
To keep the costs down, Chapman sold the cars in kit form and avoided a hefty UK purchase tax surcharge.
The regulations meant he could not provide assembly instructions, so disassembly instructions were provided and purchasers told to start at the end.
Our Caterham 7
Our Caterham 7 is the 135 Supersport which was built in 1996.
It runs the K-Series 1.6 litre Rover Engine, producing 138 horsepower.
As it weighs a mere 520kg, it propels to 100km/h in 5.3 seconds.
The car is the embodiment of Chapman’s ethos: “Simplify then add lightness.”, for he believed that “Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.”

Top Gear Experiences was born from the idea that life is short and experiences are valuable.
It was founded by Stuart, a lover of classic Porsche’s, Alfa’s, BMW’s, other marques, and of course Caterham’s.
He is an experienced driver, appropriately licensed and insured to provide passenger ride experiences in Sydney.

Why would someone choose to ride as a passenger in Caterham?
Put simply – it’s one of the best ways to experience the world around you.
Is it safe?
If you have never been in a Caterham, you may at first find it a little unnerving to travel so low and close to the ground, and without a solid shell protecting you. And whilst these very attributes are what makes the experience so enthralling, there is an inevitable safety trade off. We can’t control what other drivers see and do, but we are acutely aware that often other drivers simply will not see us, and we exercise appropriate caution.
How fast will we go?
Do not expect a “boy-racer” experience. We are driving in areas with stringent speed restrictions – often for good reasons, and in a very low vehicle which often other drivers will not see. And we really don’t like the idea of our Caterham getting damaged. We are highly experienced and staying safe is something we take pride in.
Do I need special insurance? Do I have to sign an indemnity?
No. You do not need any special insurance and you do not have to sign an indemnity. Our Industry is covered by the NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority. We are also covered with Public Liability.
Where do your tours start?
The standard tours all start at or near the CBD – usually it is most convenient to pick you up at your place of accommodation. But we will also come to wherever you nominate as your pick up location and drop you off where you nominate. We don’t have any particular place for the start of each Caterham tour. We will tailor your ride to suit your requirements. All we need to know is your pickup address.
How do I know which tour is right for me? What duration should I choose?
Depending on what you would like to see, both the Eastern Suburbs Tour and Northern Beaches Tour are good places to start, and each takes approximately one hour. However, the more time you choose, the more sights we will be able to share with you. An hour is a good place to start, in two hours we can go a little farther afield and stop somewhere for a coffee break. Anything longer is also possible.
How do I make a booking?
Contact us, we will chat about your requirements, and confirm time and cost.
How do I make payment to secure my booking?
Paying for your booking is easy. Follow the links in the email confirmation to make payment.
Is the booking guaranteed?
Once payment is made, the booking is guaranteed subject only to weather conditions, and if, for an unforeseeable reason, the driver is unavailable. In both instances, an alternative time can be made, or if the customer prefers, a full refund will be provided.
What are the booking cancellation and refund policies?
Written notification is required for all cancellations. Please send email to: stuart@topgearexperiences.com.
Full refund is provided for cancellations if 24 hours or greater notice is provided. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will incur a 50% fee.
Can my friend experience it too?
Yes, but clearly not at the same time. We are flexible when it comes to splitting the sessions, and we provide discounts for consecutive sessions with the same pickup/dropoff location.
What should I bring?
Not much – the cabin is very small. Sunglasses, a tightly fitting hat, sunscreen.
Are there any other safety considerations?
Yes, beware of the hot exhaust in climbing in and exiting the cabin.
Are there height / size restrictions?
Well, the larger you are the tighter the fit. If you are of a slightly larger girth, or over 185 cm, we suggest you contact us to discuss.
